We carry the profound memories of our ancestors in our bodies and on our skin. smoke aspires to connect personal myths, stories and imaginations with the universal questions – where do we come from and why are we here? The work explores the diaspora of brown bodied people raised by white mothers, and looks deeply at how this influences the intimate connection between the body and concepts of ‘home’.
